CREX has a deal with 7-11 (only soft confirmed in an earnings call) so we're ahead of the official press release which is the thing that will really pop it and is basically a COVID recovery stock that hasn't recovered yet because it's one tier out.

They also have some other products. They have a thermal scanner that Samsung is trying to integrate into products. They also refinanced a lot of their debt and did an offering recently so a lot of their potential downside is behind them.

They're projected for $24m annual revenue from that contract alone which is super high revenue for a 30m market cap stock. This one could reach $10 and I wouldn't be surprised. It's probably around bottom too so I think the risk of moonroof getting shaken out is low.

I think more importantly, it looks like they arent burning cash. Things cant go TOO poorly investing in a company that isnt bleeding cash.

Okay, thank you. I bought $25k at $2.25 at once. I just sold them all at $2.29. So now I should buy piecemeal youre saying?

VLDR's chart also looks negative to me. Feels like a company that the market thinks is going to lose the market share battle for its market. I sold my last shares at $15.32 - somehow still turned a profit on this stock overall due to earlier sales I made in the 20s - got one block off just under $28 last December.

The news that came out recently with the founder leaving the company and now them contradicting each other publicly is not promising - feels like the market saw that coming.

Keep in mind I think they have like 8 million of debt currently. That's the only real risk.

But that should be easy to pay off if their revenue ramps. Really though they'll probably just put that revenue into expanding. Like look at their site cri.com it's actually good shit.

A lot of their clients are airports, retail, theaters, so I mean, yeah that hurt them last year. But I expect a strongly positive EPS by Q3 2021

Buy like 5k to start

If it goes down buy 5k more. Keep averaging down

I think anything under $3 is an easy short term gain on it though.

It looks like CREX is liquid enough to handle $25k, but at some point your own trading will start moving the price against yourself. Like, if you had bought $250k (about 1% of the company) instead of $25k, I'm not sure CREX doesn't move substantially as a result of your trading.

Not that I put too much store into these things, but LAZR's chart still looks like a classic bull pennant. It's never gone below where it was in early December last year, which feels significant to me. Who knows though.

I was looking at the level 2 when I told him that and before there was a pretty long runway to $2.45 that's why I was worried

Honestly all the shares at $2.25 wasn't a bad price. I don't expect we're going below $2.20 (basically where it got squeezed up to earlier)

Going in with low quantities and averaging down is just good practice though so I'm not gonna tell you to not do it.

When they actually release a press release that they have the 7-11 deal (which I think is 7-11 holding them back on that) should see a good pop. I'm thinking we'll hit $5 range then minimum as that's what the Samsung deal last year popped them to.

In the Conference Call they said "within a few weeks" on that. So if you hold a month you should probably be rewarded.

Alternatively the first quarter where they post a good profit which would be probably be 9 months from now given how their contracts are going?

If I were you I'd sell half on the pop and ride the others-- this stock could go really high in the coming years because of that tiny market cap imo. Don't see a ton more offerings for a while either-- they've got revenue to hold stable and their incoming should put the debt gremlin back. The thing about the warrants existing is that they basically create their own offering if the stock holds above their strike price (since to exercise the warrants to convert them to shares the money goes to the company)

Probably a massive limit buy for what it ended at the day before since there was actually no reason for it to really go down yesterday. The conference call was all good news. Earnings call Tuesday PM was arguably bad in that they did lose money and revenues were down from the year before (again, expected, because many of its clients got wrecked by COVID) but the conference call yesterday morning was excellent.

But I mean the float and market cap are really low on this one so the price can move a lot on fairly low buys.

Someone who is actively trading, listens to the financial media, and is a panic seller is unlikely to achieve 8% per year returns. Negative 8% per year sounds more likely. Being a panic seller is okay if you don't actively trade or follow the market, as then you won't know you're supposed to be panicking so you'll just end up holding.

Here are some more negative stereotypes of types of investors/traders

The Know-It-All
  • Has read a lot of articles or books on investing.
  • Likes to tell other people about how they are making mistakes or taking on too much risk.
  • Quotes Warren Buffett a lot.
  • Only buys index funds themselves.
The Permabear
  • Reads Zerohedge.
  • Always thinks the market is in a bubble.
  • Consistently fails to make money in the market because stocks go up most of the time.
  • Takes pleasure in mocking bulls in speculative stocks when they go down a little to assuage their own pain in having missed the entire bull market since 2009.
The Gambler
  • Only trades options.
  • Typical holding time ranges from minutes to weeks.
  • Makes and loses more in a week than an investor does in a year.
  • After spending thousands of hours trading options, has no more money than at the beginning.
The Goldbug
  • Invests primarily in gold and silver.
  • This category overlaps a lot with permabears.
  • Succeeds in beating the dollar and keeping up with inflation, but after decades has no more real purchasing power than at the start.
The Trend Follower
  • Only buys what he sees other people buying.
  • As a result, he never buys at the bottom, since by the time he can see others buying it, it's already up a lot.
  • Prone to FOMO.
  • Makes money in bull markets, but not a lot.

In my honest opinion, theres nothing wrong with basing your trades on others. Obviously this means you lack the educational and informational aspect, but you dont need that if you trust your sources. Also, you cant hold it against anyone but yourself if the stocks go down...which I dont think anyone here does anyway.

Its a form of working smarter, not harder. If you dont have the time, desire, or whatever reason to not put in the work yourself, why not let others do it for you? You wouldnt condemn someone for using a stock broker, after all. Only difference here is youre not paying a fee for the work.

If you truly trust your sources you don't sell on a 5% dip and have the power to hold longer and see the gains you're after.

That's kinda the difference. If you do your own DD and convince yourself you're going to be able to see a lot more red before selling

My own experience is that I've lost money on stock tips, and I do trust my sources as I only act on tips from people I trust as good investors. But even so, the record is negative. I suspect that part of it is that with a tip I don't know how long to hold/when to sell, and a big part of it is that I am getting in too late.
