I haven't had a tv in like 10 years, and I'm nervous about making such a big purchase. Anything to look out for or other reccommendations? I'd like to stay under $600 for the TV. Planning get a wall mount and soundboard + subwoofer to go with

$600 for a 65in is a pretty low budget. That TV is super dim, and looks terrible in person. I'd save up a bit more (Like $1000-1200) or drop down to a 55in personally.

also don't buy soundbars they're trash. get a receiver and a 2.1 setup and you'll be alright. then you can upgrade later if you want

Avoid IPS panels. Their contrast is complete garbage

Damn people really spend that much on TVs? What should I look for in the specs to indicate good brightness/image quality? Honestly I feel like I won't be that picky, I've hardly used a TV in the past decade

Nice thanks for the link, thats really helpful. Im liking this one: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/tcl-65-class-5-series-qled-4k-uhd-smart-roku-tv/6423898.p?skuId=6423898 $650 isn't bad and I see it has VA instead of IPS.

I think for sound I'm just gonna start with a basic soundbar and upgrade from there >_> don't wanna spend a ton rn
