I mean

Let me think about this because I do love both bands and heavily favor The Beatles but I'm about to take a drive for pizza so I'll play some tunes by The Beach Chads and see how I feel

Alright, I still don't know cause The Beach Chads make me wanna sing but The Beatles make me wanna listen.. I think TBB really shine in songs that aren't the weird experimental stuff Brian did during smile.

Songs like Here Today, I'm Waiting For The Day, Do You Wanna Dance, I just Wasn't Made For These Times, and She Knows Me Too Well are absolutely phenomenal songs.. especially Please Let Me Wonder and In The Back of My Mind are where it's at as far as I'm concerned. Something really beautiful about the way Brian was able to segue into certain sections and that whole tequila sunrise thing you feel.. like you could drink up the sunset listening to these tunes and believe you're actually doing that

The Beatles are just this whole creative monster though.. usually I compare TBB to The Beatles' earlier years because The Beach Boys never expanded out to the extent that The Beatles did.. Paul, George, John, and Ringo just sound raw in all the recordings they made though. You'll get a song with certain textures just to be met with different ones while The Beach Boys were able to creatively expand upon the surf sound:

I still can't decide - really both bands wrote some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard in my life x(

let me put it this way, if it were between The Stones, The Beatles, and The Beach Chads the order would be:

1) The Beatles
2) The Beach Chads
3) The Rolling Stones (I mention the Stones because they're closer related to The Beatles in terms of how they approached songs but The Beach Boys did their one thing so well that I would happily give The Chads second place)

The Beach Boys really started with a love for surfing, like all their music is either about a car, surfing, or a car with a girls name - they did well too, like it's really fun music but they had this harmony with all their voices that eventually Brian Wilson expanded on with Pet Sounds. It was all there though in their earlier albums - that particular Pet Sounds album was a big change in their sound and the topics they approached. Loads of musicians appreciated that album for just how composer-y it was and how well it paired up with the beautiful beach ballad thing they in some of their songs

The Beatles were definitely inspired by The Beach Chads when they were in the studio making their set piece Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band.. Paul called it a rivalry but Brian Wilson of The Beach Chads doesn't really make much illusion about how much he loves The Beatles
