Do you think all hell is gonna break loose with riots if Chauvin is acquitted?

Jury Selection was HALTED in Minneapolis today for racist killer, Derek Chauvin in the murder of George Floyd as the judge DELAYED the case to consider adding an extra charge as prosecutors fear Chauvin will WALK FREE if he is found not guilty!!

He is currently charged with second degree murder and second degree manslaughter as a judge must consider reinstating the 3rd degree murder charge that carries a max 25 years in prison, a charge he dismissed last fall

Prosecutors are fearful Chauvin will escape conviction for 2nd degree murder that carries a maximum 40 years in the big house and instead will only be convicted of 2nd degree manslaughter that carries a 10 year sentence. State's guidelines recommend 12 years for a conviction on the murder charge and just 4 for manslaughter.

The second degree murder charge requires proof he caused the death while committing or trying to commit a felony and argue he committed 3rd degree assault. The manslaughter charge simply requires proof he caused the death through negligence.

Chauvin's attorney, Eric Nelson will argue Floyd died from taking FENANTYL and had health problems

Chauvin is authorized to use force as experts say it may be hard for the prosecutors to prove he committed an offense that is necessary for 2nd degree murder as the 3rd degree is simpler to prove because they don't need to show that he committed asault but instead prove his actions were reckless without regard to human life

The jurors were sent home as some 2000 National Guards are deployed surrounding the courthouse as it is on a virtual lockdown as the highly anticipated court proceedings are underway

The fate of the officer will be decided by 12 Hennepin County residents picked after extensive grilling about their views on police and the just system.

This comes as the city is on edge as protesters were already out on the streets shouting "No justice, No peace" as any low sentence, let alone an acquittal could spell another country wide protest and violence that hit the US last summer..

I'm sure if they keep throwing charges, they'll find something to stick -_- Honestly, it's starting to feel like they're giving any pretense of seeking justice and simply looking to appease the angry mob. Moving the goalposts at the end of a trial is just fucking ridiculous.

Honestly, taking a stand against mob rule is literally the only way to end these protests. Otherwise it's going to be a never-ending process where each met demand would be met by a new one. Even if the end-goal of banning the police was achieved, it would pick a new ludicrous demand.
