Voted SMRPG but TTYD is probably the better game. The nostalgia is too strong however.

Really fun game for sure.

The original Super Mario RPG has always been my favorite Mario RPG and in fact my current favorite game of all time.

SMRPG > SuperStar Saga > Paper Mario > BiS > Super > the rest are ranging from mediocre to terrible. Sticker Star is one of the worst games ever made.

Haven't played TTYD since around when it came out. I can only assume it's an improvement on 1 by its reputation. Otherwise I have to say PM is better than SMRPG despite being kind of easy, and it's probably better than Bowser's Inside Story, which I remember thinking was the best M&L.

I'm actively disappointed by SMRPG after only playing it for the first time on the Wii Virtual Console and being hyped up by game forums proclaiming it to be the best game ever and it's definitely not. Suuuper overrated.

Super Mario RPG gets my vote, though I have to say, time has been kind to Super Paper Mario. Especially with regards to its storyline and dialogue.
