Because America is great. Europe is nice for vacations, but I don't think I would like to live there. Everything over there is like a smaller, crappier version of what the US has except government benefits which I don't need. Also, I don't speak any other languages other than English and Cantonese, and China is definitely not the place to be.

Cuz even if America has problems, all countries do. Grass always looks greener on the other side. My wife and I have looked into moving to the UK, Japan, Italy, Singapore, etc... and every place comes with baggage.

U.S. ain't even close to perfect, but it's still a great place to live for most people. TBQH I think it's largely dependent on which state you live.

This, if you go by reddit comments the US looks like a terrible place and we're all hoping to get to Europe, but in reality the US is a pretty nice place to be and barely any Americans want to move out.

My family is all still here. I can't leave them unless I had to.

Plus you can't just get up and move. You need to get a job, be sponsored, etc.

I think this gets lost in people a lot of the time. Comparing the U.S. to a small country like Germany or Norway or something isn't exactly a fair comparison. Given how vastly different state government and laws are, it's more accurate to compare American states to individual European countries. To look at the U.S. as a whole you should really be comparing it to the E.U. as an entity.

Im thinking about looking at Africa at some point. There are literally no opportunities here in the US. The boomers bled the workforce and social security dry and what they didnt take, Gen X got.

Its hard enough to find a job that pays fairly and doesnt drug test you every five minutes. When youve got the job, the wage goes down and the cost of living goes up. This is not a very good place for people who are trying to make it. You practically have to be connected to break out from underneath the glass ceilings that society has created.

Why has our government not addressed stagnating wages? Why has it not addressed workplace automation and the scarcity of jobs? Why has the government not done something to stop the cost of living from going up? They need to do this BEFORE raising the wage.

But, yeah. If I didnt have a family, I doubt that I would live here. Funny how we used to be the country that everyone wanted to go to.

I sold my soul to the United States Federal Government. I will serve my country til my last breath. To move (permanently) out of the country, for anything that wasn't in service to my country, would be tantamount to abandonment of my core ideals and similar to outright betraying my country
