Would you at least ask your spouse if they still felt romantic feelings for the statues, or would you ignore it and assume that, because they married you, they must love you?

Lemme take you back to 1997. Talk about your "Wild West of the Internet," this was the true Wild West of the Internet. In that online communities were very small and isolated. It was the Wild West of many things. Including the "Wild West of enjoying anime in the West." Toonami was only just getting started. So if you were an anime fan by now, where were you watching it? How could you have even heard of it? Odds are you were either lucky enough to live in an area where they were airing it in syndication, or you ordered it special and watched it with your college anime club. Or both.

Enter Greg Taylor. A humble student from Ottawa and one of the true OG's of the game. Down with the weeb shit back when that actually meant something. Nowadays any Twitter artist or Instagram meme page can pimp their Patreon and at least make lunch money when, say, a new Smash character is announced. But Greg Taylor was bangin' well before all that, and STILL managed to get clout.

You see, it could be argued that Greg was chosen. That this was the path destined for him. Why did he get into anime? Because his name is Greg. And the second ever episode of an anime he ever saw was the Sailor Moon episode "Mercury's Mental Match." It was the episode that introduced Sailor Mercury's kinda-sorta love interest, "Greg."

Same name as the guy watching the episode. And so Greg Taylor developed a fascination with not just anime for the sake of anime, but anime for the sake of Sailor Mercury. And for his devotion, he was featured on TV. Truly special among otakus.

So does he still love Mercury? Well that's the question. He still loves anime. Like a sculptor who originally got into sculpting to bring himself closer to his porcelain bride. And his love for anime has produced content. To this day he writes a webcomic called "Math-tans." However, he is actually married. As of September 2019 he was married, and had a daughter just over a year old. I can't say for sure how old he is, but he says he did Shad Valley at University of Waterloo in 1993. That's for high school students. So bare minimum he's 41. He had his kid when he was about 39. 8 to 10 years above the average for first time fathers in Canada.

He is statistically a late adopter of a romantic life outside of loving Sailor Mercury. You see this a lot, this isn't entirely involuntary. It comes from an unwillingness to leave the old life and old loves behind. Why should a guy like Greg worry about things like getting married and having kids? Anime is fine. But eventually he did get married. But kept the anime. The outlet for his love for Sailor Mercury.

Imagine being a 3D woman, but still not being able to touch your husband like Sailor Mercury does. Would she be within her rights to ask him if he still loved Sailor Mercury? Is that a crazy question? Because Greg's love for Sailor Mercury was crazy enough. Wasn't it?

I was going to engage in this topic because the title interested me, but unfortunately that's just too many words in your post for me to parse at this time

And if you give a damn, take me baby, or leave me.
