Just curious what your thoughts were on the show. I think it's the best show I've ever seen, and have seen it a few times now. Not to mention the Reactions on YouTube as well.

But what are your thoughts on watching it for the first time? Since it's on Netflix now it's more popular than ever.

I watched it as it came out. my friend and I bought the whole thing on DVD... 14-ish years ago I think?

I started watching it around when Book 2 was airing. Have rewatched it numerous times since.

It's fantastic. Not without faults, but fir the most part just brilliant.

And as said, Korra is also great. Higher highs and lower lows overall.

Also, The Dragon Prince on Netflix is by the same people. More classic Western fantasy, with dragons and elves, but also very good. Animation is poor at first, but gets better.

I keep trying to get into The Dragon Prince, but it's hard for ANY show to keep my attention these days. I'm almost done with the second season. I think it's great, but I get too distracted

It's one of my favorite shows EVER too. But I don't watch a lot of the big series.

I don't watch a lot of TV shows. I guess favorite would be a better word. I mean, something like Breaking Bad would be "better", or even something like Band Of Brothers. But when it comes to a show I can watch 100x and never complain? It's Avatar, and that to me, makes it the best show I've seen

That's a good point, imo. I loved Breaking Bad, but I wouldn't re-watch it. I've seen all of Avatar probably about 4 times now

I getcha, favorite is different from best though. Best is more objective; favorite is subjective.

And Cable if you'd said 'well the ending was better' its agreeable, but come on Game of Thrones had amazing depth through most of its run. It raised the bar for TV across the board which is a good thing

I'm not saying Game of Thrones was bad at all, and I'm in agreement with what you said about it. It goes back to the same point made earlier, though.

I wouldn't re-watch Game of Thrones either. The show was great and I didn't have much of a problem with the ending. I never read the books so the show was my only exposure to it.

It's a phenomenal show but it doesn't come close to the level of both quality and re-watchableness of both Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones. Have rewatched all 3 shows multiple times myself, 3-4 times for both Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones but only twice for Avatar. BB and GoT are on just an entire other level than Avatar (except for the last two seasons of GoT, I'll admit).

Super disagree. I can't imagine how bored I would be rewatching BB or GoT. I like rewatching certain scenes of GoT but fuck rewatching hour long episodes

Toph is a the Best.
Sokka is the second best.

I don't care for anyone else on the good guy team.

Iroh is also great.

how is that any different than rewatching two episodes of Avatar? Adds up to the same length... if you only like "rewatching" in chunks of half an hour then pause the episode half way or whatever

I watched it about 12 years ago, and again about 3 years ago when I got it on DVD to show my wife. It's a really excellent show. Iroh is one of the best characters ever.

For one thing it's three episodes of avatar for each GOT. I don't, and I personally don't know a single human being who starts an episode of something and then pauses it a third of the way through to save for later, come back, pauses it again, then comes back to it later. That sounds like some hitler level shit. If I am going to watch an episode I am going to make sure I have the time to do that.

Also rewatching GoT would take 3x the amount of time it would take to watch TLA.

Well, guess it all really just comes down to personal preference and taste in the end. I greatly prefer the story, characters, action sequences, world building, dialogue etc. of both BB and GoT over Avatar, and the time just flies by when binge watching episodes of shows I really love. The bigger length of a single episode really doesn't matter to me, goes the same way with Avatar really because when I rewatched Avatar I would binge through loads of episodes at a time. So the length doesn't really matter here to me at all, I just vastly prefer the content both BB and GoT have to offer over Avatar.

Generally consensus is last season wasn't very good and it slowly declined after the first few seasons.

I watched it last year. Certainly one of the best animated series I've ever seen. It's right up there with the DCAU in my opinion.

I was also pleasantly surprised. It really is great.

It seems like they were able to find a sweet spot with the depth and breadth of the different themes and the art styles, combat, etc.

The ending was expertly done. Not flawless, but it cemented it as a great show.

I don't know why anyone would compare it to a live action drama series. It has a different appeal.

I own the Blu ray set. I love that show so much, and it is one of the greatest shows of all time imo.

May start slow, but man, once it starts going, it goes. So good.
