Got that right. This "spring forward, fall back" crap is for the birds.

In all seriousness, though, what IS the benefit to changing times twice a year? There has to be SOME reason that people justify this.

Jokes on you I don't have to change the clock until the 30th. And after that we're not doing that shit anymore.

Yay.

The spring one sucks, due to it robbing an hour from a weekend and forcing a minor adjustment to sleeping schedules.

The fall one is awesome, giving an extra hour to the weekend and making it easier to wake up "earlier".

I still support the change though. Without it, where I live the sun would rise at 3am in June (if we kept it on winter time) and wouldn't rise until 9am in December (if we kept it on summer time).

Work schedules are a thing. If I have to be at work for 8am, I don't want to drive there in the dark in December.

It saves the daylight for the time in the day the majority of working people would make use of it. I wouldn't leave this to an employer to enforce. I recognize it's a ridiculous system but a necessary one for higher latitudes.

There is no real benefit. The supposed benefits have been disproved by various studies. But people cling to it because "change bad".

Nothing like arguing for daylight savings by using an example to justify it when daylight savings isn't even active (December).

On the flip side, it means you're driving home in the dark at 4 pm, which is arguably more dangerous because most people are more tired after a day's work than just after waking up.

It's a nice thought, but in practice, there's no way to get around the fact that there are more hours of work in the winter than there are hours of daylight.

I just realized that this was probably the first time in like 10 years I've gone to bed before the time change. Guess it also explains why I woke up an hour earlier than usual.

I'd also like to point out...

I'd rather drive to work in the dark in the morning than drive as sun rise is happening. My ppor eyes are already struggling with being awake and then I have to deal w/ BLINDING SUNSHINE in my face.
End of DST is like a double slap in the face. Completely pitch dark when I'm finally out of work, and trades in the nice dark sky in the morning for painful bright light.

One good thing about the time change is that the sun shouldnt be in my face as bad as it has been for the past few weeks. Id say about 90% of my drive, Ive got the sun in my face. And of course its always in a position where it finds the little bits of space that my mirror or visors dont cover
