Socket wrenches are always sold with 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" drives. Do they use those terms overseas, or do they have some crappy metric version like 6.35mm, 9.525mm, 12.7mm and 19.05mm?

I think it's more like a 0.11 kilo with cheese.

no they use stuff like 8mm or 19mm which sound far less stupid than fractions

I've always thought snapping a 10mm socket onto a 1/4 drive ratchet was funny, but then again, metric time will literally never be a thing as long as we're stuck planetside, so there's that.

Metric tools and parts are divided into whole millimetres, which can create some incompatibilities with imperial tools/parts. In areas with enough history of using imperial, you'll usually see that used as the standard even if they ostensibly use the metric system, and you'll often see both sets of tools and parts being sold regularly.
