Well I've had miso. IDK the difference between Udon and Ramen though. I want soup, and I want something new. Which one do I get?

The main difference is the noodle, which is what udon and ramen describe. Udon is a thick noodle made with wheat, while ramen is a thinner egg based noodle. I prefer udon most of the time, but well made ramen is incredible too. Basically, you cant really go wrong with Japanese noodle soup

If you want inexpensive and easily obtainable, the Nissin seafood ramen cup of noodle is real good, it's the Japanese version, they sell it at Walmart.

Ramen and udon can wildly vary depending on the place. It just refers to the type of noodles, a ramen place can have massive variation in the rest of the ingredients. Just get whatever kind sounds good to you.

Also I like sukiyaki.

Tonkatsu is way different than most American prepared pork dishes, its a lot thinner of a cut and is really tender but with a super crisp coating. Tbh, if someone told me any of the tonkatsu Id ever eaten was chicken Id definitely believe them

Udon is a type of noodle. It is not a soup.

Anyway almost all Japanese soup starts out by using Dashi as a base. You can just drink the Dashi if you want. If you put soybean paste in it you get miso soup. If you boil the Dashi with pork cuts you get tonkatsu broth used mostly for ramen I guess.

wow this is delicious

I was 100% expecting to hate it. It's got a bunch of different ingredients in here. Everything tastes like the broth but also tastes distinct. It's also a tremendous bowl. Can't believe how piping hot it still is too. Great decision.
