The number of unarmed Black shooting victims is down 63% from 2015, when the database began. There are about 7,300 Black homicide victims a year. The 14 unarmed victims in fatal police shootings would comprise only 0.2% of that total.

The U.S.s population is what, like ~60% white? Only ~12% of the population is black. IIRC once you adjust for that, it shows that black people are 2-3x more likely to get killed by police.

Someone already pointed out how your statistics indicate that Black unarmed victims are still killed 2x-3x as often as White unarmed victims. And that's after a large decrease in recent years.

And what percentage of white homicide victims do police killings make up? And why does it matter that you're more likely to be killed in another incident than by a police officer? That doesn't make a police officer killing an unarmed victim any less wrong. Might as well compare homicide victims to war casualties and say "well, I guess there's no problem with murder, let's just ignore it all."

There are tons of people of all races who never have contact with law enforcement. You have to dig deeper and break it down by how many contacts with police each race had and out of all those contacts how many people were killed and then you would have your answer.

I wasnt responding to the topic though, I was responding to you and another user who were disingenuously saying police kill more total white people than black people, without acknowledging that proportionally speaking black people are 2-3x more likely to die at the hands of law enforcement.

I wasnt looking for some in-depth response, just a youre right, sorry for trying to sneakily skew the narrative.
