Very cool new paper. Has lab experiments, causal manipulations in real world settings, simulations.

Shockingly effective to simply cue people to think about the accuracy of the news they share. And this effect gets compounded due to network effects.

Interesting, though I'm always interested in the nuance for this sort of thing. I wouldn't say that actual inaccurate information is the most malicious form of "fake news" but rather disingenuous framing around what the facts mean

Fair question. Hard to tell if they address this without reading through the actual paper. All their materials are on osf, so presumably if they assessed some stories that fall under that realm it would be easy enough to tell.
