What conservaderps do with crime statistics is a little more than that. They aren't just deflecting, they are trying to imply some racist white supremacy bullshit without saying the words. The statistics can easily be interpreted and explained but what right wingers do is just drop the stats without any interpretation of it. They are implying that black people are biologically or culturally more violent but they are too afraid to say it. What's really happening is that we know poverty, among various other factors, has a very strong correlation with crime. As someone said earlier, most Black on Asian crimes probably aren't hate crimes. It's poor people robbing other poor people. What we are actually interested in is hate crimes on Asians in 2020-today.
