Then you have cases of scummy tenants who dont pay or they leave early and absolutely trash the place beyond what a security deposit can cover. If you ever feel that rent is too high at one place, voice your concern and look elsewhere. It's too high, but it's due to builders building what makes money. Can't fault them for that, can't fault the landlord for doing what they gotta do either. Houses aren't much better lately, everything is built high $ and they get it so why build affordable? Then the area comps go up, so everything else does too. Trying to build affordable living now would also be a bad gamble. An 8' 2x4 is nearly $7 right now and good luck getting trusses or engineered I beams.
