Last Sunday, I created a thread "I took a video game personality test" where I shot the idea out about creating some kind of periodic blogfaqs thread. Well it's uhh Sunday again. And I'm going to post some uhh stuff on Sunday. Because I've had issues with Sundays in the past (i.e. having nothing to do) and well, people claim I don't like anything so...

First Up

This is the first Vtuber I have seen to have played Path of Exile, except it's Artemis of the Blue, a channel that I don't quite understand. She seemingly post 1 video a week, and I think they're largely from Twitch (or they're a past Twitch streamer or something), but they also don't make many Twitch videos. Something I am missing here so I largely don't watch her videos. Another channel that does this is Hikaru Station (now Bao Ch.). I think they're in the same kind of group. I used to watch a lot of Hikaru Stations' videos before they became Bao and started streaming exclusively on Twitch (I have issues with Twitch as a service, so I only go to that site when stanning Rachie). I think Bao actually primarily targets TikTok now, which is just weird (I'm starting to sound like a Boomer. Uhh. Tomato Town!).

Secondly, the thing that spurred me to make a thread, is that Youtube has a lot of these "learn programming" videos, I mean absolute beginner stuff. I don't see any value in these, as I already "know programming" by going to school for way too long (and almost failing out). Coincidentally, I don't need a Youtube video to teach me C in Korean, because I could probably teach a course in C... in English (and I don't know Korean...).

And finally, there are videos like the ones above, but targeted towards learning Linux. I've used Linux for 15 years now, and I primarily think I get these because I subscribe to "The Linux Experiment", a very good Linux news roundup channel. It's worth checking out: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5UAwBUum7CPN5buc-_N1Fw.

Sunday Q&A?

I can make my way through writing scripts for work to mess with data and also lets people use GUIs to help view it and such. Kind of my niche at work, Im there whenever someone wants something automated or a general process streamlined even without programming. I dont feel like I really know anything about software engineering though...professional code looks different and uses so many different files instead of just one. I try to follow style guides and read through Clean Code which I found to be a big help in organizing myself.

Am I making sense? Is there a book that talks about making this transition?

Now I'm in the slump of the mid day. Watched the Series finale of American gods and I'm now listening to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mDTEuTRht0. Also have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSbGLq9p4yY queued up for later.

I had a thought I was going to write, but I forgot said thought, because words.

Finished watching the second to last episode of Non Non Biyori Nonstop, and now I'm looking at TV shows premiering in April (I already listed what I planned on watching for anime in the anime thread.

  • Law & Order: Organized Crime actually interests me because Meloni is reprising his role. I watched SUV for many years before eventually quitting it. I think I will at least put a few episodes in.
Nothing else is of any real interest. I was expecting Outlander to return sometime soon. Other than that, I don't think there will be a new TV series for me to pick up for at least 1-2 years.
