No but it is the first time someone stopped me immediately after checking out at the self check (which is right next to the door I exited and in full view of the door guard) and asked to prove I paid for everything I just paid for

As I said, when I worked at Walmart, if you were on the door, you helped people with buggys and carts, directions etc, and they had employees specifically for dealing with stealing.

i dont remember when i noticed door people start checking receipts but it wasnt a recept development

its basically almost all they can do. ive read in multiple places that if you work for wal mart you aren't even supposed to approach people who are shoplifting right in front of you unless you're management staff, and youll get fired if you do. which is insane because im pretty sure people steal more from wal mart than just about anywhere else

I'd be pissed if someone stopped me to accuse me of stealing, too. "Just doing their job" yeah their job is to guess who is stealing and check their receipt. That's them accusing you. I don't need to be nice to them for stopping me to make sure I didn't steal from fucking wal mart. Literally who cares. If an item isn't in a bag, they check the receipt. It's not an accusation, it's a double-check. There's literally nothing offensive about it. They do it to me, too.

I show them my receipt, because I paid for the item and it's on the receipt. There's literally no reason at all to be difficult about it.

People need to get over themselves. You don't get special treatment just for being you. When you go to the store, you just have to understand that the people who own the store can make any rules they want within their establishment.

Why's it a big deal? Nobody gets singled out unfairly. They check receipts when items don't have bags, or if they're on the bottom of the cart, etc. etc.

I show my receipt all the time and it has never once, not even a single time, felt like an accusation.
