The replacement of Kate Kane was revealed after the shocking exit of Ruby Rose who left the main title role last year because of her unhappiness living in Vancouver, Canada forcing the show to recast her or have an entirely new role....

The latest episode gave way to the shocking reveal where nobody expected it to be shown this soon on the whereabouts of the character when her plane exploded but no body was found.

26 y/o British Actress, Wallis Day was cast and made her surprise appearance as the new Kate Kane.

Kate's character was written out at the start of season 2 with the first black DC female superhero was revealed to be a new character, Ryan Wilder played by Javicia Leslie.

Day was excited about the surprise news as she posted the report to finally reveal the recasting and said "Super excited to finally announce i'm joining the cast of Batwoman. It's a huge responsibility stepping into the shoes of a character that's already been established and it's a journey i'm looking forward to being a part of and hoping you guys do"

But producers said that does not mean Kate will return as Leslie will indeed be the new batwoman permanently after the show was renewed for a 3rd season.
