Current Events > Third stimulus sent to a bank account I don't recognize. Anyone else?

Have account with WF which the IRS had no issues sending direct deposits on the first and second stimulus, but somehow they **** the bed and sent the $1400 to an account ending in four digits I don't recognize at all (checked the payment status on their website where you input SSN).

Anyone know if I need to do something on my end? Do I have to call my bank or just wait it out until there is a correction?

Probably best to just hope for the best.

Do the IRS have someone you can call? I'm just a foreigner, but probably want to check with someone, so them or your bank it should have gone to seems wise. Better than risking losing out on what is yours.

I saw this happen last time.

Did you use a tax preperation service like HR block? Sometimes they give you your return on a card ahead of time and they get reimbursed the money from your return when it comes in.

There is a phone number to call but no one has reported getting through on it and lots of people have this problem. C NBC article says millions are reporting this problem.

"And like millions of other customers of many tax preparation software companies, her second stimulus payment was sent to the wrong bank account by the IRS."
