Like if I beat the final boss can I keep playing afterwards? or will I have to make a separate save?

You cannot save your game after beating the final boss, so make sure you have a save file right before entering the tower that crashes into the landscape.

You will need to use that file to explore and do side-quests.

It's from the good ol' days when beating the final boss was actually the end of it, and there's a save point right before so you can go back to wherever you'd like to do whatever piques your interest.

Or you can go play X-2 instead, and re-explore the same locations half a dozen times or more, some time after the events of X.

Not so for Majora's Mask, if I recall.

new locations

There is the final boss area, a new area added to that place where Operation Mi'ihen took place, an explorable Bevelle, new sections of Bikanel Island, the airship Celsius, a maze in the Thunder Plains that requires you to write stuff down, a maze that requires you to exterminate some bugs, the Chocobo Ranch, and a new dungeon in Final Mission.

Then it's probably Anima and the Magus Sisters. Try to visit Baaj Temple, that place that Tidus washed up on when he first came to Spira; and make sure you unlock every treasure chest in all of the Cloister of Trials.

yup those are the two. I read in a guide what I need to do in order to get them and I realized that I missed almost all of the destruction spheres in the temples. -_-

No fun either. That's like every feature if the game off the table. Might as well call that an only press X run.

How do you expect to beat the game with those limitations by only pressing x? A normal run is more like a only press x run.

Then try beating the game using just one character. Wakka and Tidus hold their ground relatively well, with their Attack Reels and Haste abilities respectively. Rikku is the reason why NSG challenges are possible. If you want to solo-run the game with Auron, be prepared to grind a lot before Macalania Temple and to run all the way back to Bikanel for those Jecht Spheres to unlock his Overdrive skills. As for Lulu, I am unsure; but she is slow in battle. With Yuna, I cannot imagine that clearing the game would be possible without using any aeons.

Yeah, to each their own. I don't get fun out of actively not playing 70% of a game to make it torture. There are games that are out to torture you by design at least if that's what I'm looking for.

torture

Well, these challenges were probably thought of by some blokes who have played the game many times over and wondered how to figuratively spice-up their next run. That said, FF10 is torture in of itself, what with its inexorably slow, unskippable cut-scenes, and the fact that you're basically going in a straight line and going through lengthy expositions of how Spira works (all for Tidus' benefit, mind you) for about half the game.

Fair points, but I'd think that taking just about everything aside from walking in a straight line off the table would actually take "flavor" away.

As I have stated before, I am waiting for the whole trilogy* comes out.

  • assuming it remains just the three games, by the end, instead of additional chapters (not counting DLC.

I do look forward to the Yuffie DLC since she was my date of choice in most FF7 files I played, and also very much like my girlfriend at the time when I first played VII. Basically the only one of my exes I'm still in regular contact with. So when it's finally time, I'm hoping the full experience will be a worthwhile delight.
