i never did. i started working at 12 on farms. Made getting the first "real" jobs (where they take taxes and pay you minimum wage) at 16 easy, which made getting those college jobs easy, which made getting internships easy, which made getting a career type job out of college easy. I already had 10 years of work experience as a hard worker by the time I was 22.

then my schooling credentials were always impressive enough. No need to lie.

Never lie on it if you're applying for a high end job because most likely they will look into your credentials to see if they're legit or not. The best thing to do is to stretch the truth and make sure to have people on your references in on those stretched out truths.

Yeah, never lie about your college degree or GPA because both of those things can be fact checked easily. What I mean by stretching the truth, for example, is when I posted that I'm a Community Service director at my old job was that I networked with hundreds of other non-profit organizations to do charity work to get our employees better involved with the community... when in reality I just sit on my computer and send a bunch of emails to them hopefully some of them respond to it. I'm not lying, but what I did isn't as grandiose as I put it on my resume.

I've never had a resume.

The only job I've had didn't require one.

All it required was the transfer of my soul

Never had to. That being said my first real job was enlisting in the Army and the only thing that required were things I couldn't fake (a physical and an intelligence test).

Right now I'm working as a software engineer and I've got a degree in Computer Science so I didn't really have to fake knowing how to code.

As a software developer I've taken part in interviews with a lot of college kids without computer science degrees and I've noticed a trend of people interviewing for entry level software engineering jobs and listing a bunch of programming languages on their resumes and then when you dig a bit deeper you realize that they don't even know the absolute basics of programming. Like they can't write fizz bang. They don't know the difference between a for loop and while loop. They will list that they know SQL and they can't write a 'select from where' query.

No, although my job references are severely lacking though my first career and job after the army was trucking, and there arent to many connections you can build there.

So whenever mutiple references are mandatory on a job application I just back out there and then, or just ignore that payment completely.
