They did come out good. Hard to mess up cookies, but I was worried because the dough was so dense my mixer was just pushing this clump around and I swore it wasn't mixing properly

It's true, unfortunately

My weight typically goes up in the winter, but this past winter I added an extra 10-15 pounds (!) more than usual

I'd blame the pandemic but that's just an excuse. I haven't been exercising. Usually exercise after the kids are in bed but the baby hasn't been sleeping well enough but again, excuses... If I really wanted to I would make time to exercise.

I miss having my regular routine though. Can't wait for this kid to start sleeping normally.

I wake up at 5am to hit the gym. And speaking of kids not sleeping... last Monday I woke up at 5am to find my 7yr old watching TV. I was like, Get your butt back in bed. Then seconds later, from behind the couch, my 5 year old emerges. .

They wait til we are asleep and dead tired to then party.

I'm going to be making some double chocolate chip cookies tomorrow, though I'm going to take it a step further and also make some marshmallow sauce (really just an Italian meringue, without the gelatin that makes marshmallows marshmallows) to sandwich between them.

I wake up at 5am to go to work... I'd considered waking up at 4 to exercise but I really don't want to go to bed earlier.

Like I said I only have myself to blame. The solutions are there. I only need to make time to exercise but currently that will require me to change my schedule and I'm unwilling to do that right at this moment

I hear you with the early risers though. My oldest wakes up no later than 6/630 AM. Always been up early. Even if we let him stay up late he gets up early. I'm an early riser myself but there are times where I'd like to sleep in another half hour and he's waking me up to make him breakfast lol

He's getting old enough now where he will play in his room and let me sleep or even pour himself some cereal.

Yeah, for assembling a snack, just shoving an actual marshmallow on there will do the job. Bonus points if you toast it.

Alternatively, mix peanut butter with a bit of icing sugar and you'll have basically created the filling for Reese cups, which would also go very well on there.
