Demon Slayer is pretty good. I really liked The Promised Neverland Season 1 too, but I've heard bad things about Season 2.

Granbelm is a mecha anime that aired in Summer 2019 and also aligns with Marth's taste of liking anime that have casts filled with cute girls, so it might be Granbelm. If the recommendation actually came 3 years ago though, then it can't be that. In that case, it might be SSSS.Gridman as someone else mentioned. Could be something else like Cross Ange or Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne too.

Awesome, I hope you enjoy it. Granbelm is a really underrated gem that way more people need to watch, especially fans of mecha anime. Fully hand-drawn mecha anime that don't use CG at all are becoming more and more rare these days, and Granbelm did it really well.

I've only watched a few eps so far, but I'm kinda digging Wotakoi. It's a bit different from most romance anime in that it basically starts with establishing the romance and kinda just runs from there, and the romantic leads are both adults who work in an office, so it isn't bogged down by dumb high school drama. It's just two massive nerds who decided to start dating because they're basically perfect for each other.

Another slice of life anime I really enjoyed was My Roommate Is a Cat. It's a very simple premise; reclusive novelist with social anxiety adopts a stray cat because he needs a muse, and then wacky hijinks and occasional heartfelt moments ensue. The events of each episode are depicted twice, once from the human's perspective, and then again from the cat's perspective. So even though you're essentially watching everything go down twice, the change in perspective keeps things really fresh.

Definitely a lot different from most of the recs ITT, but I wanted to recommend wholesome slice of life stuff. For me, watching something that's just chill and gives me a good vibe can lesson the chance of burning out too quickly.

Finished the first episode, and you're right it was too early to judge. I actually like the mood that the show/characters keep, expected it to be a bit more broody. Animation also struck me. Gonna give it the 3 episode treatment.

Huhuhu, it just gets better and better. There are even crazier, awesome moments after 3 episodes. If you loved JoJo, MHA, and AOT; you'll find the entire JK season great.

I think I can see the comparisons, right now I'm very much appreciating the mood it has. Not very many shonen can balance drama and comedy simultaneously, and that dash of horror puts it all together.

I know I said 3 years in the topic title, but I expected people to rec stuff outside that time limit and its not like I'm gonna disregard them. It's just I was more aware of anime 3 years ago and knew what interested me back then. I started HxH, skipped to the York New City arc and never finished it. Good stuff and I'll finish it eventually, it's just hard for me to get into anything with more than 25 episodes I need to watch.

Finished episode 3 so I think I've been exposed at least to 4 main characters. For some reason I like Fushiguro a lot, he appears like the "Sasuke" archetype but for some reason all the humor that comes out of him lands. Kugisaki I'm also interested in seeing develop. Overall I appreciate how light the cast can keep things.

Idk if it'll keep like this, but I also like how in episode 3 they had a "low level" still be a threat by bringing a hostage in. Keeps it from being who can out power who and add in the ethical complications.

I'll throw it on the list. Gonna be updating my MAL so I won't miss out on these recs.

I'm on ep 8 of Jujutsu Kaisen, so it's safe to say that this will dominate my feed for the moment. Episode 7 hooked me, I hate to admit but I like the blindfold guy now. I hated his design before I gave this show a fair shake, I hate to admit he's a badass but...fuck he shows how creative/cool shit can possibly get. The show in general feels really fresh despite coming from what seems to be a stereotypical premise. The self-awareness definitely helps.
