My two predictions are as follows.

1) Masks will become part of regular attire similar to hats; though only worn when a person is sick.

2) Employers will be far more willing, possibly even insistent, to send potentially sick employees home to work.

Additionally, while I think there will be a CHANGE I don't know how so with this one...

I do think that we will see a drastic change in office and work life with an increase in work-from-home arrangements (cheaper, far more convenient, highly favorable to pregnant women and mothers as well as stay-at-home fathers). Though exactly WHAT I don't know yet.

Hopefully wearing a mask while sick, if you must leave the house, will become the norm.

Probably nothing. I'd love to see it result in a greater level of remote work, but honestly even that's unlikely. Considering that a lot of things are already slowly defaulting back to normal, I'm not sure any changes are going to last all that long even though we're always going to be on the verge of another pandemic because the CDC is in the pockets of the CCP and the CCP is more concerned with arresting doctors who try to warn people than actually fixing problems. And the same wet markets that keep causing these problems just re-open whenever the current issue ends.

Even during COVID there are a lot of employers who either refuse to do this or insist that people come in sick.

People like this whole getting money back from the government thing. I think there is gonna be demand for universal basic income since minimum wage isnt really enough to help struggling people make ends meet.

There will be a demand, but the government is obsessed with means testing and will use it as a wedge issue to fracture the voting base and we'll never get it. You know, the usual.

Hopefully nothing at all. Maybe a lot of people who think they look cool in a mask will keep wearing them, but there will be no practical reason to wear them all the time, unless you live in Hong Kong or some shit.

There 100% will be a far larger portion of the workforce that shifts to working from home.

I work for a company with over 30,000 employees worldwide, mostly in North America. Prior to the pandemic, I was one of a few hundred at most who worked from home full time. During the pandemic, the company shifted all of us to remote work and closed all of their offices; they swiftly discovered how much they saved on rent and overhead as a result and several of our physical offices got permanently shut down and sold off as a result. Now they've committed to a 50/40/10 split of their workforce post-pandemic, where 50% works in the office full time, 10% works from home full time, and 40% is in the office 1-2 days a week, working from home the rest of the time.

UBI isn't something you'd means-test, because "universal" part means everybody gets it (although in practice it can't really work out because it's paid for by taxes so the "tax credit" it would take in some cases is completely illusory and countless Americans would really be paying far more money in than they were before). However, it's not going to happen any time soon when the whole fucking country is trying to get back on its feet.

I mean, it's extremely practical.

On the employee side it's comfortable, has no dress code or office policies to worry about, you can relax easily enough, no worries about company filters or the like, and no commute at all. Your 'commute' is from your bed to your desk. Of course you can't just goof off and play games all day but the fact that you're able to relax at least somewhat is a massive morale booster.

On the company side it means a drastically reduced overhead since they don't have to pay for as much office space or the like or for as much equipment/supplies.

I'd say it sounds like a win-win.

This. Prior to Covid, there was a ton of opposition to it from executives and other higher-ups that were convinced they couldn't have a productive workforce unless they were in person and being supervised. That's very obviously not been the case, however. WFH has worked (from home) better than I think anyone could have predicted, in many cases, and I don't see the world ever returning to the same level of unnecessary in-office labour.

Yes that was my point. It will never fly because people will refuse to allow something like it without aggressive means testing which would defeat the purpose.

most ceos want everyone vaccinated. The eeoc has basically written a blank check to employers to fire or allow you to not hire people not vaccinated. You cant win a lawsuit w money that will be resolved five years from now minimum where the employer relied on a federal govt recomendatiomz

even if you win you lose.

also employers have to deal w the reality of people who will sue them if they dont require vaccination as a condition of employment.

as to your general question.

The people who dont vaccinate will become second class citizens. Their travel will be restricted their jobs limited their social circles extremely limited. Schools will require it.

keep your vaccination card. Laminate it.

We'll see if they can put the telecommuting genie back in the bottle. I've been remote working for ages, so I've always known how BS the excuses against it were, but now everyone knows.
