In terms of racists/capita, percentage of Earth's racists, level of racism, and other scales - about average, even below average on some metrics. It really depends on how you provide the scale - are monocultures like Japan more "racist" than America? What about China? How do you judge a country's policies in comparison to its population? Do more populous countries (India) count more than less populous (Iran)?

despite all of the bitching and shit we give it, america's for sure up there in the "least" racist countries

not to say that there isn't a lot of racism in this country - cause there is - but an entire third of the population is not of the majority race

like, minorities have actual pull in this country and, especially nowadays, there are actually - very generally speaking - consequences to being racist

that said, i think america's pretty up there in terms of the vileness of the racism that a lot of its population exhibits

cause whereas a lot of the racism you encounter in other places (especially those places where the populations are super homogenous) is merely based in ignorance, a lot of americans' racism is completely malicious in nature

Yeah I'd say this is fairly accurate.

It's not as racist as many other countries, but the racism we do see here is definitely more violent and malicious in nature

I think America's very diverse population makes it's racism very visible and I think that makes racist groups also more visible and bolder, in a way you wouldn't necessarily see in a country that was 90+% the same ethnicity. Like a country that is 95% white doesn't need to have a Klan, even if the populace is extremely racist and you also aren't going to hear a lot about the racism because there are just less people to be racist to. Not much will be said about systemic racism and the like because the minorities who live in that country will struggle to have a voice.

So I don't think America is more inherently more racist, but its racism is fairly unique when compared to a lot of countries of the world in a way that makes it more notable.
