Scream 1 was great because because of its dark humor and the way it poked fun at the cheap clichs of all slasher films of the 80s. Scream 2 might have been my favorite, except ~~they killed Jamie Kennedy's character which pissed me off~~ 3 and 4 I can live without. Will probably watch 5 to say I saw it. But in my mind the "series" ended at a sequel. One of the advantages of Scream compared to other slasher movies: It actually makes you give a shit about the characters. Like when you watch a typical Friday the 13th film, you are rooting for Jason! I thought Scream 4 was better than Scream 3, and as long as they kill off a major character in a good way in Scream 5, I have no issues with it. I just figure since all three OG's survived the fourth film, there's no point in making another unless one of them finally bites the dust. The whole "remakes can't mess with the original" spiel was done in part 4, so none of the characters have that plot armor now.
