So in 2 fights Godzilla pretty much won. Kong needs an axe.

While Mecha was beating Godzilla so i can only assume hed so the same to Kong. And again, Kong he needed his axe and to dluble team him with Godzilla.

So:
1. Mecha
2. Godzilla
3.Kong

According to thia movie.

Kong got shat on in that movie. He loses consecutive fights to Godzilla, then gets a meaningless victory over Mechagodzilla.

Kong needed assistance to hang with Godzilla and couldn't even defeat a nameless flying serpent without outside interference.

Toho really did Kong dirty.

So kong gets his ass beat and needs humans to save him FOUR times. He almost died to Mecha while jumping on him kicking godzillas ass. And even then he needs an axe to be powered up by godzilla....

Damn, poor kong.

They already had to bend over backwards to give Kong a fighting chance by drastically increasing his size and neutering Godzilla's durability. He never had a real shot at winning.

Pretty much this. Kong's greatest strengths are his agility, speed, and opposable thumbs, but in the MonsterVerse, brute force always prevails.

Mecha Godzilla was so powerful, though; however, it wasn't really a fair fight for Godzilla as he had just expended so much energy fighting Kong.

I really hope they continue making MonsterVerse movies. I'd love to see the MonsterVerse version's of Gigan, Destroyah, Biollante, and Mech King Gidorah. Better yet, I hope we have a "Destroy All Monsters" remake in the MonsterVerse with the entire rogue galaxy appearing in an all out brawl.

I haven't seen the movie but any plot that puts Kong on par with Godzilla is doing Godzilla dirty

Kong is a big monkey

Godzila is a walking unstoppable Atom Bomb

Kong was originally defeated by being shot by a plane

So whining Kong didn't beat everyone up is crazy

If this was Dragonball Z, he'd be Tien

I disagree. They neutered Kong. He didn't have any of the aggression shown in the 1933 movie or in Skull Island. Much like the original King Kong vs Godzilla, Kong got turned into a big teddy bear of an ape.

As for the size difference, Godzilla is a mutant. If you take the atomic bomb out of the equation, he's just a dinosaur. And Kong kills dinosaurs. If you're allowed to change Godzilla's origin to say he was always a kaiju, you have to extend the same courtesy to Kong as well.

I'm not saying that Kong should've won, but he should've made a better accounting of himself than a desperate underdog getting overpowered in consecutive fights.

So you're argument is, if you take away Godzilla's powers, size and atomic abilty, made him a midget and ignored all of Kong's weaknesses, they might have a fight?

What a silly argument.

Yeah and Maria Hill can probably kill Juggernaunt if you take away his size, suit, mutant ability and gave her a gun

I'm saying that Godzilla's strength is artificial because he was mutated. If you dropped a nuclear bomb on King Kong, he'd turn into a kaiju as well. The only reason King Kong wasn't as big as Godzilla is because the nuclear bomb wasn't invented yet when he rampaged on New York in 1933.

Basically, the argument for why Godzilla should win is because he's allowed to bring a knife to a gunfight and Kong isn't. Kong detractors claim it's cheating for Kong to grow larger, but it's fair for Godzilla to use a weapon that wasn't even invented when the first Kong movie came out.

Juggernaut isn't a mutant. His abilities are magic-based.

This is who the characters are. It doesn't matter that Kong didn't get nuked. Mothra wasn't nuked. King Ghidorah wasn't nuked either. Kong is just a weaker class of monster.

So why isn't Kong allowed an upgrade when Godzilla is?

It's not like Kong has been consistently 25 ft. tall in all his versions. In more than half his films, he's been over 100 ft. tall. You're locking Kong into the 1933 version while saying Godzilla is allowed to be whatever size he chooses and have whatever upgrades or origins he chooses.

Godzilla's G-cells weren't a thing until the 1990s and I see people complaining that he doesn't have regenerative capabilities in this movie. If Godzilla is allowed to grow and gain new powers with each new incarnation, so is Kong.

I never said Kong couldn't grow. I said Kong had to be upgraded significantly while ALSO nerfing Godzilla to put them on even footing for this movie, which is true. Kong doing as well as he did IS the evidence of that growth, but nobody should have expected him to win.

They nerfed Kong. Godzilla was in full force.

I say this as a fan of both monsters.

If anything, they upgraded Godzilla to be able to breathe his fiery breath indefinitely. The last time he did that, it was as a sight-gag in Godzilla vs the Smog Monster.

Godzilla vs Bambi wasn't a fair fight because Bambi was a deer. The filmmakers did a disservice to Bambi by not giving him atomic breath. If anything, Godzilla was the weaker opponent because if he was just a normal lizard, Bambi would've won.

The series is Godzilla first and Kong second. King of the Monsters just established him as the top of the top. So obviously, they weren't gonna have Kong, who is another good guy, overtake him.

Still, he gave Godzilla a good fight in Hong Kong. Godzilla by now knows that's his atomic breath is basically an instant win, but Kong stopped him from activating it several times in some great ways. Hit him in the back once, started choking him another time and then shoved a fucking axe down his throat.

They upgraded Godzilla for the Monsterverse. He's larger than he's ever been. His powers are natural. It's a new origin. If he's allowed one, so is Kong.

Kong got nerfed because he had none of his usual aggression. Instead, he got stuck hanging out with little kids, listening to 1950s music, and scratching his butt. They knew what they were doing. They were out to make him look like a chump.

Kong has always been a more sympathetic kaiju. It's part of his character. In King Kong (1933), Peter Jackson's King Kong, and Kong: Skull Island, Kong's relationship with humans has always been a central part of the movie's premise.

Godzilla, on the other hand, is a much more morally grey character. His relationship with humans has always been tenuous. Sometimes he's "humanity's saviour" against a greater threat, such as King Ghidora, Gigan, Destroyah, or Space Godzilla, but other times, he's a villian, and it's up to Mothra, Biollante, or even Mecha Godzilla to put an end to his rampage.

I thought the movie did a good job of characterizing both Godzilla and Kong in a way that remained true to their origins. Godzilla is a force of nature whereas Kong has always been a reluctant adversary.

As well, in the original Kong vs Godzilla (1963), the movie gave Kong powers of electricity which was incredibly stupid lol. I'm glad this movie gave Kong other advantages in his fight against Godzilla.
