These are both terrible opinions. One hating on MJ, the other hating on Sinatra.

The Beatles got it any way you look at it. At absolute minimum they have 5 classic albums in a row, along with singles not tied to albums that hit. And you can easily expand that album number to 7 if you include Help! and jump over the Yellow Submarine soundtrack to get to Abbey Road.

THIS^

But barring them idk, Michael is sorta hard to beat
-- maybe Black Sabbath?

Paranoid
Master of Reality
Vol. 4

at least in terms of a band growing I think I enjoyed that progression alot.. Megadeth (Metallica) is another band whose musical growth was great throughout their entire career:

KiMB
Peace Sells...
SFSGSW
+Rust In Peace

Kanye West also has a good streak of albums in a row that all show growth at least in terms of the music (maybe not subject matter)

  • Revolver - August 5, 1966
  • Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - May 26, 1967
  • The Magical Mystery Tour - Nov 1967
  • The Beatles (now better known as "The White Album") - November 22, 1968
  • Yellow Submarine - January 13, 1969
  • Abbey Road - September 26, 1969
  • Let It Be - May 8, 1970

Id go so far as to say you could pick any three consecutive albums from that list and its better than any other bands three consecutive albums list hands down. Ill also point out that those seven albums camps out on a span of less than four years.

MJ is hard to beat. Unskippable songs on amazing albums. I love the Beatles but there isn't an album they've made that has unskippable songs. Kanye is close but 808s fuckin ruins it. Late Reg, College Dropout and Graduation are 3 solid albums tho.

dude, I'm a professional jazz musician. there were a couple albums of his that I listened to obsessively throughout high school. I know every note of every part in every song on Sinatra at the Sands. I guarantee I've spent more time listening to him than pretty much anyone on this board. (if you count only active listening, then I'm 100% positive)

he was a good singer. most of his music is corny as fuck and not good
