All of my PS4 controllers have broken. Every single one has joystick drift. The only game I can play with no issues is Rocket League.

With PS5 impossible to get is the Series S worth it? I say that because I cant imagine not getting a PS5 at some point. Game pass is looking very appealing though and I need a new console.

Worth it or do I keep trying for a PS5?

How can you even sleep without the raw power & style that is the Xbox Series S cuddling next to your like a purring tiger? God, just thinking about it gets me rock hard. Every time I turn it on & see that logo on my 4K OLED TV, I get a boner harder than steel.

Maybe I will be sticking to PlayStation after all.

I'm on mine right now, it's a cute little monster. Just beware it's a 1080p/1440p machine. Oh and get an extra HDD for cold storage and past gen titles.

Bang for buck it's an amazing deal

If you're gonna get a PS5 as well and you don't overly care about 1080p range resolutions it's a great Game Pass machine.

Game Pass is looking more and more like a steal every day. Its getting the Show day 1. It gets all first parties day 1.

I think if youre looking to upgrade and do no disc, Id do it and get Game Pass.

Series X is worth the extra $200 for the 2x storage and disc drive alone.

Especially since expanding the Series X SSD is $220

Any modern HDD would do btw. I've got 4 terabytes in mine and it's perfect.

If I get Game Pass do I need the storage? I thought I didnt need to even download the games.

You will later in the generation, enhanced titles only play from SSD. Might as well future proof yourself. You can only use the HDD for One/360/Xbox titles

You can use as cold storage and swap even modern games from HDD to SDD and vice versa. Takes a few minutes

That's cloud gaming. That's for when you're not on the Xbox. You can use that on phones or smart TV's.

It's a bonus you get with Game Pass Ultimate and not all games are on there.

With Series S you'll have about 450GB internal IIRC. You can use USB hard drives for Xbox One games and the odd Series enhanced games that don't need the SSD drive like Master Chief Collection. Most native series games will need to go internal or an expensive memory card.

Oh yeah as mentioned cold storage is an option for USB drives as well.

Or you could just have extra internal storage.

But seriously unless you are flat out broke, Series X is easily worth the extra $200.

That might be a deal breaker. I like to keep at least 5-10 games downloaded at any time.

or you could just not have to do that every time you want to play a new game by spending the extra $200 on a more powerful console that has a working disc drive and will play titles from later in the generation better than a Series S will

Literally a few minutes. Just move a handful of internal games and then swap them in and out as needed. You can even do so on your phone while taking a dump. It's a non issue

I've got 8 games on my internal right now, and 19 on my HDD.

Literally 0 minutes if you just have the extra storage. Its worth the money over the long run of the amount of time the generation lasts

Before that happens the external cards will be dirt cheap and you could add more speedy storage for a few bucks. MS already said they will open the patent for more companies to manufacture them to drive prices down

I had a launch PS4 and 500GB was awful. Instead of expanding the memory I just bought a 1TB model.

I have to say I agree I much prefer internal memory to expandable. I like my gaming as simple as possible.

System is as simple as they come. Smart Delivery and Quick Resume are both present, but if you want to get a PS5 go ahead.

Nah

Almost 3x the usable storage
4x the GPU muscle
Backwards compatibility defaults to One X (4K), not One S (usually less than 1080p)
4K blu ray player
Compatibility with much cheaper Xbox 360 / XOne used games on disc

Meh, without a capable monitor you won't see much of a difference. I care not for physical games, because I travel a lot. This thing fits right in. I'd need to pay extra ticket to bring a PS5 into a plane lmao

all of this is worth the $200 now instead of the disappointment later in the generation

also buying any all-digital console is a poor investment, period, ever. Get a disc drive.

Disks are glorified pass keys. Physical is dying. Just let it happen

I don't want physical to die either, but so many of even the PS4/Xbone era physical games were literally just download keys that had me install the game to my system anyways, except more annoying because I still needed the disc to launch the game.

Physical on like the Switch is just a game, and that's so much better.
