By censoring the Japanese language ?

Whoever wrote that article seems incredibly bias for no reason. These things usually have automatic filters and it probably picked up that word accidentally and banned them. They'll go through the right channels and likely get unbanned and EA can fix their filters. Don't blame EA for this, blame the racist shit heads that plague online games, leading to this being a necessity.

I'm sure that already exists, but I just don't see these places ever not using automatic filters as it saves them a lot of trouble/time and in their eyes that's worth the trouble when a few people get fucked over like in this case as they ultimately don't give a fuck about them, over paying more people to handle reports.

Money is ultimately the deciding factor and automatic filtering is cheaper than paying people to handle a mass of reports.

I remember when Laura K Dale writing for Kotaku got "upset" about it. It was stupid. I also remembered that she was reaching out for confirmation from the publisher that that was actually the word used, Kotaku decided to just publish it anyway before such a confirmation (or as it turns out, denial and explanation) was obtained. And then rather than just correct the article and apologize, Kotaku published a new apology article so the old and new articles are both still driving rage traffic to their site.

I think Dale left Kotaku over the issue.

I've been told that the names Nigel/a should be avoided by Americans, along with the variation of the word snicker with a double gg. (I get why can't use it on gfaqs, but in general?) It is much more a British English word than American though, and if a black person did tell me they didn't like it I would likely avoid the rare times I actually use it/snicker of course.
