Going to try to start on a lite diet again so I can lose like 20 more pounds (trying to impress a gril).

So far I have:
  • Basic grilled Chicken Salad
  • Sichuan Mapo Tofu (no rice)
  • Asian Lettuce wraps

I do grilled chicken, lettuce, fresh tomatoes and fresh mozzarella. Drizzle some balsamic vinegar on that.

Not carb-less, but I would go with Bacon & eggs for low carb.

If you want something that has the texture of eating rice, try "riced cauliflower". It's essentially cauliflower that has been chopped to the size of rice. It's low carb and can be fried or steamed and holds up well to just about any flavor profile you're going for.

Unless your bacon has added sugar, bacon and eggs is as close to zero carb as you can get. Though it's a bit high on the protein:fat ratio if you're going for keto.

I can second this. It's very obviously not rice, given that it tastes like cauliflower and not rice, but it does offer the same texture and functions well as a base for stir fries and curries and the like.

I need to try some, I have always been a white rice purist but for a diets sake I need to go for trying this.

I get where you are coming from but I want to be the best version of myself for her.
I need to break some ice before I can try the next step of in getting closer to her and I think some rippling abs will help :o (or at least a flat tummy)

Making my own vegatable stock first (which requires expending veggies first).

I would have to find a recipe I liked.

Real Crab is too expensive, especially for filling up a man who needs a hearty meal.

Shrimp is also delicious and more affordable but I wonder if my palate will stomach frozen shrimp over fresh sourced shrimp.

The rule of thumb is frozen shrimp is as good as slightly old shrimp, if it's straight out of the water, it's better, but modern freezing is actually very good.

Okay Chili works great.
Sashimi too expensive from a trustworthy supplier.
Steak is always good.

Okay we've already done the lettuce wraps, and shrimp.

Going to go to the store tomorrow or the day after to pick up some bacon and romaine lettuce for some BLT wraps.

TBH I want more lettuce wraps and mapo tofu as well.

But will try to pick up some vegetables for soup, maybe we'll do a beef and cabbage stew.

The ingredients would be a pain in the ass to get/make but I bet a pad Thai salad would be pretty Kick-Ass.

I might try to make a ground chicken burger but lettucevwrapped
