Seems like the perfect guy to do it, I mean he saved the whole world from a vampire apocalypse and a dragon apocalypse, is harbinger of the companions, Arch-Mage of the college of winterhold. He's also the champion of daedric princes and leader of the thieves guild and dark brotherhood but everyone has some skeletons in their closet

That's not really how Bethesda does things.

Standard practice is to assume that every questline is completed and canon, which means you've sold your soul to both Nocturnal and Sithis, so you're going to be much more inclined to working on more important things than ruling a broken empire, and doing those things in the shadows rather than from a throne. Especially since you'd also be running/rebuilding the College in Winterhold.

Based on previous examples, the most likely scenario is that the next game jumps ahead 100-200 years, and we get little more than vague references to anything that happened in Skyrim, but more or less everything you did previously is mostly invalidated (you'll get a wishy-washy outcome to the civil war where both sides technically win/lose, the Blades/Dark Brotherhood will still be around even if that doesn't make sense based on how you played, the Thalmor/Empire war will either be totally unresolved even after decades or totally resolved off-camera by characters you've never heard of before just so they can drop that entire plot in favor of whatever new idea they have, etc). And the Last Dragonborn will barely ever be mentioned again.

I would think a powerful dragonborn would be able to lead an Army against the thalmor, I get a Tiber Septim 2.0 vibe from the last dragonborn

Nah. We only did enough to become a daedric lord.

I mean we still don't know what happened to the Nerevarine, other than they went to Akavir and never came back, so I wouldn't hold my breath for the Dragonborn.
