Thank God. I was worried that E3 would be dumb enough to make their return during the year where they absolutely should not make their return.

I don't know how much different this will be than any other mid June. Developers always drop all their upcoming reveals at that time, with or without E3.

They still might do show floors. As that was one of the biggest parts of E3 after the press conferences. That is the part that kind of needs an in person touch, as its harder for demos and tech displays to be showed off over the internet.

I think it was Kotaku that said "[Blizzcon 2021] could have been an email," and really, that's not inaccurate of most of these big events, even when they are done virtually. They offer something special for the people that actually get to play upcoming game demos and whatnot, but so much of the in-person press conferences are just irrelevant fluff that provide no lasting hype or useful information. Just providing a plain text list of upcoming games with youtube links to trailers would be boring and do little to actually promote the games, but trying to make a major event out of it is just unnecessary.

BotW2 news please Bowser

None-tendo hasn't taken E3 seriously enough, to present major titles or details about said titles, for years now. I doubt we'll get BotW2 news. If anything, they'll slap us in the face by teasing some details, only for it to be a spinoff no one asked for.

Yeah. As abysmal as 2020 was, it finally put the outdated event to rest like some barbarians did a dying Western Rome. What little we enjoyed about E3 that has survived will continue to do so in other events.
