I did the first 5 mins. Any tips on what to store away and such? Or is it all standard. Never played the series before. After this I'll play 4 then 7.

Save ammo, like all of it.

Only kill zombies in areas that you will revisit multiple times. You'll just waste ammo killing enemies that you don't need to.

How do I kill the zombies then that wanna eat me??? Why give me a gun with fucking ammo and say no no no don't shoot. The fuck!!!

Just think about about the hallways in the police station and which areas lead to where. There will be hallways that you'll go down multiple times so you'll want to make sure they're clear. You don't need to kill every enemy in rooms you go in once to pick up an item. I'm not going to tell you which ones they are as that's for you to figure out.

It takes forever to kill zombies even with headshots (doesn't increase damage, just increases the chance of a critical shot) so just incapacitate them by shooting off their limbs so you can more easily get past them. Shotgun has a guaranteed chance of a critical headshot but I wouldn't waste it on mere zombies.

The bosses are kinda hefty on health so thats probably what people are suggesting you save ammo for.

First time doing survival horror? You're supposed to use your weapons on the bosses and stronger enemies, not the small fry.

Just do your first playthrough on Assisted, thats what I did. I killed like every enemy in the game. Its way more fun.

The game has a bastard adaptive difficulty thing. I headshotted every zombie to death and when i got to the next major part, they took like 15 shots to the head to kill.

Fuck whoever thought punishing you for being good was a good idea.

- Pick a leg, shoot it until it falls off. That zombie is now 80% less dangerous and can usually be left alone.

- Board up lots of windows.

- Don't be afraid to reset and retry parts that you complete wastefully. Survival Horror games require lots of re-running.

- Walk near Lickers. Never lose your cool and run.

I should add, they can detect you if you were running in the room before they spawn. Kind of a dick move, but that would explain why some of them would go straight for you even if you start walking.

Best advice is to always approach a new room walking, never running.

"save ammo" is the absolute worst advice for a new player in RE games but I always see people say it.

Isn't the knife super weak and breakable in RE2 Remake? It's mostly just for getting a zombie off you when grabbed.

imo you don't need to be that tight about ammo. i'm conservative and usually have a good bit left over when i'm at the end. if you feel like you need to use ammo in a situation, do it. don't get hung up on saving it. the game will give you more, don't worry

I shot basically every zombie I saw and I did fine with ammo.

Better than them wasting it all on unnecessary enemies and getting stuck on bosses and having to restart.

Like yeah, being super stingy on ammo isn't necessary, but don't waste it all either.

Ammo isn't as scarce in RE games as people think it is. If you save ammo you'll have a whole arsenal in your item box by the end of the game full of shit you never ended up using.

Most new players try to dodge enemies because they've been told to save ammo and they end up using all their healing items which are more scarce than ammo is.

A new player also has no idea what rooms they're going to be revisiting. You're going to really wish you cleared rooms when you're trying to get through a narrow hallway with two zombies, two lickers and Mr. X chasing you.

Don't miss and only use your stronger weapons on stronger enemies, but always use ammo.

Save gunpowder for shotgun shells and magnum ammo.

You might be able to get away with making ammo for your pistols around 10 times or so, especially on easier difficulties.

This. You dont need to be hunting down every single zombie in the game but if theres one between you and where you need to get to you dont exactly need to feel bad about wasting ammo to kill it. Ammo and healing items are fairly plentiful on all but the hardest difficulty. The game does a pretty good job of not letting typical players run out, but also never feeling like they have an abundance of it.

Yes I'm playing assisted since it's my very first time with the series. Next time I'll play as the next level up as the girl.

TC do you not value preserving your own learned experiences? You have to play this game in two scenarios. Save the walkthrus for when you finish the first run

I don't wanna be in a position where I can't even use my save point if I'm lacking ammo then I have to start all over again. That really upsets my ass. I hate when my ass gets upset. You like upset asses? No no no.

That's part of the game. Remember it's the survival genre. You're going into your first playthru trying to be close to perfect.

Lickers are crawly guys with long tongues and exposed brains. They can't see but can definitely hear.

Part of the game (a good majority) is to have fun. Hoarding a bunch of ammo and dashing away from zombies is bust. Might as well turn on fucking Super Mario Bros and get the flower and use it once or twice in each level and then "save the flower fire power" in case it runs out (which of course isn't the case since it's unlimited) but the point I'm making works. I better have fun playing this game on the weekend or I'm making a new topic venting. And I plan to use ALL CAPS cause I'm a thug!!!

This is why you should have not made this topic and just went in blind lol. I did and do not remember remotely stressing out about ammo. Especially since youre using Assisted like I did my first run which will help you avoid missing shots and wasting bullets.

Save your ammo, in most cases you won't need to use it on regular zombies. If your in trouble with zombies, aim for their knees/legs so they stumble and fall and won't immediately attack you.

Remember the layout of the police station because you will be there a lot and you'll be revisiting areas in the police station multiple times for puzzles and stuff. Also if you play RE3 Remake, you actually return to the police station for a while so its handy to have the layout down.

Can't really say much else without spoilers but have fun and you'll do fine. Oh and remember locker combinations.
