It's not the most important of things, no, even if very shitty. The issue, which you are fully aware of, is that it is often done by those claiming to be "family people" and who rally against LGBTQ+ rights in the name of protecting said family.

Cheating on their wives is a pretty big deal and idk why you wouldnt care. If the marriage is dead, they only joined for political reasons, and dont wont the bad press of a divorce then settle for a open marriage.
