EDIT: AOT SPOILERS BELOW!! If you dont want to hear it, please exit this topic.
====================================

I see this AoT ending chatter about it being a 'Lelouch ending'.

No, no it's not Lelouch. And Code Geass is overrated crap.

If you want to trace back to who was the original mastermind of this brilliant kind of villian ending polot twist, go read Watchmen. Alan Moore revolutionised fiction forever when he wrote that comic. Sadly, most people now forgot what that comic is.

Except Ozy invented an enemy to unite people, he didn't become the enemy himself like Lelouch.

I think his idea made more sense. By shrouding himself under the curtains, he's free from emotional influence and being under investigation.

Instead of parading himself like some silly egoistic villian we see today

I wouldnt even say eren was trying to unite the world, his only goals where the protection of his people. Which is why he murdered almost everyone else and only allowed himself to stopped by his own kind. He protected his people through both Militaristic and political actions.

I'm still not 100% on what happened in the ending of AoT because I don't care, but if it involves someone willingly becoming the villain to unite people against them, then they're right to call it a Lelouch ending and not an Ozymandias ending.

That's the difference between the two, the focus on what the public is uniting against.

Yeah, what Lelouch did is a zero-approval gambit

That's not what Ozymandias did. Then again, I'm not sure if that's what Eren did either.
