You can get a 256 GB SanDisk card for under $35, that's not a bad price and that's probably the minimum I'd recommend, available space can fill up pretty quickly.

I got a 400gb card for mine.
Id say 256 min and 512 max... mainly because 1 tb sd is still way too expensive. Like 1tb is 3 times the price of a 512gb card --- "Im not saying thats how it should be" "Im Saying thats how it is" ... Copied to Clipboard!

I decided to get the 256 because Animal Crossing NH is 6gigs and I don't have time to secure a physical copy before my friend wants to play with me.
