Not a joke topic, and kinda TMI.

But so like, I'm super paranoid about making sure my butt is always nice and clean. I really get in there during showers and after pooping, I put soapy water on the toilet paper to make sure I'm extra clean down there.
But like, for months now, my ass is randomly really itchy all day, some days. Like, abnormally itchy. The hell is up with that?

Anyone here experience something like this? Anything I can do to fix it, before turning to a dermatologist? Am I cleaning too much?

Help me CE. You're the only hope for my butt.

Uhhh maybe use moistened wipes made for down there instead of soapy toilet paper

That can dry out sensitive areas if you dont rinse properly

AND DONT FLUSH THE MOISTENED WIPES or your itchy asshole will be the least of your problems

Would that really do it though? I don't have any soap allergies. And I always follow up with a regular wet toilet paper to rinse.

I actually have been thinking of getting one of those new-wave bidets attachments that are everywhere now.

I've thought about getting personal wipes but yeah I worry about the plumbing here cuz we live in an apartment building.

Removing the natural oil of your skin often enough will do that. Dunno if it's different for asscrack skin.

That's what I was wondering. But like I said, I don't have sensitive skin or any other problems with using soap too much.

Don't soap your butthole after every poop, it will cause irritation. You don't even need moist wipes, just wet some toilet paper and give it a once over if you had a messy bowel movement.

If you don't calm down on that you'll start getting hemorrhoids due irritating the blood vessels in your rectum.

You can use hemorrhoid cream proactively if you are getting a lot of itchiness in the interim. It will soothe the area and help stop you from wanting to scratch it or over-clean it.

People have pretty much covered it, if you worry at any part of your body a good deal more than the rest you shouldnt be surprised if that area suffers from irritation.

Shit, that can cause hemorrhoids? I had no idea. I'll try and pick up some cream and see if that helps.

Thanks dude. You may have quite literally saved my ass haha.

Yeah. Unless you had loose bowels or frequent constipation I doubt it would be a bad case, but yes, things that cause frequent irritation to the rectum like over-washing can cause them.

And from personal experience, I can tell you that once you start getting hemorrhoids it is very difficult and annoying to get rid of them.

I have you tagged for having bad hygiene. I'm happy to be able to remove that one now. I think it was because you said you didn't shower for months at one point? I can't remember anymore.

@LostForest too much soap.

You do realize soap doesnt disinfect and is biologically just drying out your skin right? Youre paying too much attention to it. A simple rinse with water is already ensuring cleanliness. Youre drying it out from all the fiddling and its making it itchy. Stop touching it so much. When youre in the shower just use your hand and then wash your hand if it makes you feel weird but stop putting soap everywhere. Youre going to distend it from all the attention and then you have a loose butthole earlier then you should and REAAAALLLY be in trouble when leakage starts early.

Get you something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Best-Sellers-Home-Improvement-Bidet-Attachments/zgbs/hi/6810564011

They attach to the toilet at the water source, so easy installation.

I've got colitis and this thing was a game changer.

I don't have any recommendations on particular models, though.

Depends.

"Colitis" itself just means "inflammation of the colon."

For me, it's a chronic inflammation with no known cause, dubbed "idiopathic."

A step further for me would be ulcerative colitis, followed by Chrohn's Disease.

It might be immune-response based.

Too much of a good thing. You are drying out your skin.

You also may have a minor allergy to something in the soap.
