Well obviously. Street Fighter games are made by a different company and different development teams than the Mortal Kombat games were. Old Mortal Kombat games can't compare to old Street Fighter games(Starting with SF2) on technical gameplay, albeit old Street Fighter games were nowhere near perfect. Street Fighter is about testing yourself and constantly striving to improve and grow stronger in spite of adversity, while Mortal Kombat is more about the spectacle of murder in a macabre tournament consisting of battles to the death and survival. Newer Mortal Kombat games have deeper, more serious stories than those of newer Street Fighter games, but it seems like Capcom is fine with that considering they haven't advanced the story of Street Fighter into the future, and it's latest point in the timeline has been where it's at for around 20 years now.

Street Fighter 1 is a surprisingly deep game.

Its the only video game I can think of where you need to perform arcane rituals to earn the favor of the Great Old Ones in order to successfully pull off a fireball motion.

I beat SF1 by just repeating the fireball motion and hitting the button hoping it would eventually connect. Two fireballs would end a round.

I liked his afro. SvC Chaos wasn't great by any means outside of the somewhat unusual roster though. Character and gameplay balance was not good. CvS and CvS2 aren't good either gameplay balance wise but it's not as bad.
