Obviously at the start there wasn't any form of romantic relationship, we were purely a coach and a tennis student. After finishing school, i moved on to university for some time and we didn't have much contact except an occasional text message to see how the other was doing. We had each other's phone numbers for tennis purposes, and after a while, Bobby and i started to talk more and more until eventually we were speaking every day. At first it was a friendship, it was like we were best friends. We were both in denial about our feelings toward each other and we just kept saying that we were just friends because we were so terrified of the idea of admitting our feelings"

Bobby even tried to push her to date other men because he felt a responsibility to try and end it since he has daughters her age....

But when Bobby got a new apartment for his family, natalie said they started hanging out more and it just developed one night when they started making out and kept it a secret for awhile

They quarantined together during the pandemic as she knew she had an attraction to "older men" because she is so mature for her age..but they knew they couldn't keep this a secret forever and she finally told her best friend

Her friend was slightly concerned but talked it through and was eventually okay with it..but her parents was even harder.

Her mom was devastated and did not accept the relationship and wanted to talk to Bobby that went terribly. She believed he was taking her daughter's youth and she had one week to tell their father

Her dad was furious and didn't understand why she wanted a man that old and even asked her to go to therapy thinking it would fix things.

But it never panned out and they are now not talking as she prays one day they will come to them..bobby's daughters are also not pleased but have to live with it

They created a youtube channel to "empower" people on the gift of love and said how they met is not relevant but how they are together now is the most important thing in their lives

I know someone around my age (lower 30s) who is dating somebody who is at least in their upper 60s. She seems very happy and loving life so I feel no reason to judge the situation. I get this situation is slightly different with the whole met when underage part of it, but I truly think love can exist within such a large age gap.

Meeting someone when youre 30 and meeting someone when youre 13 isnt even close to the same thing unless youre Jennifer Garner and you just body swapped with your older self and then its pretty close I guess.

yeah the problem isn't the age gap, the problem was that she was a literal preteen that he just maintained an inappropriate "friendship" with until she was legal

As others have said, the problem isn't the age difference

Is that they've had a close relationship since she was very much a child and then suddenly they're together when she's legal.

For the record, the age of consent in Kentucky is 16. This is super creepy. I dont know of any grooming laws for Kentucky. So as long as they didnt have sex before she was 16 or while he was coaching her, then I dont believe there is anything illegal about this situation.

I know a couple where they met when she was 14, but the guy waited until she was 18 to start dating. Well, he's only 4 or so years older than her, not more than twice her age like here. Very different situation.

It's possible it was grooming but everyone stating it as fact is junping to conclusions. Based on the article (or at least what Full Throttle posted) they didn't talk much when she was younger. They could be lying sure but no one here knows that for sure.
