In Alien 1, she had long hair and there's a scene with her in underwear. But then in Aliens, she has short hair and there's never a shot of her in underwear. What changed?

Reminder that the Ripley part was written as a guy. That could have been a dude in his underwear.

Wasn't everyone in their underwear when they woke up from that cryo freeze thing in the beginning?

Would it have been less sexist to have everyone else wake up in their underwear and the two women to wake up in jeans and a sweater?

My mom, when she was younger, looked a lot like Sigourney Weaver. She's an amazing actress and one of the best the industry has ever had, but I cannot look at Weaver attractively ;-;

It is completely different in tone, but it's still awesome.

I've always bugged me the way she wore he underwear near the end of the movie. The way it's all folded at the top.
I just want to jump in the movie and pull it up for her or something.

Its definitely an action movie, as opposed to being a horror movie, but its still very good. Both movies are among the best in their respective genres.

FAMED filmmaker and deep sea explorer James Cameron has revealed the one scene which crossed the line over the sexualisation of women in film.

The scene in question refers to Sigourney Weavers famous strip in one of the films final moments. Weavers character, Ellen Ripley, dropped her gear, according to Cameron, leaving the viewers watching Weaver simply in her panties.

But for Cameron, who took over the helm of the second film in the series, Aliens, the scene simply crossed the line.

For me that stepped over the line, [when I took over] I said I think I can make a movie with a compelling female character who doesnt have to do that, so thats been my goal and my mission throughout, he told news.com.au.

Ive never really operated under studio pressure, Im sure a lot of filmmakers do [feel pressure to sexualise characters], but I was able to be successful enough, early enough, that they kind of left me alone aesthetically.

I follow my own muse for what I think is right. My films continue to be successful and they continue to not objectify women so I think that speaks for itself.

I made it my goal to make women interesting without making them sex objects and I think I was pretty successful at doing that.

Wow looks like I'm not watching any of James Cameron movies anymore, what's wrong with women being objectified, you woke idiot.

I think the idea is that they had to cut her hair short and not let her be sexy (i.e. in her underwear).
