Yuna isnt the main character, unless you count X-2 as a mainline title.

i think for FFXII they developed Ashe or Basche to be the main character and the management changed it to Vaan at the last second. It should count as Ashe or Basche, whichever was supposed to be the main originally

Bash iirc. They changed it cause square aims ff games at teens and therefore felt basch was too old for the players to relate to or some shit.

The dudebros in FFXV really felt like a step down from the female cast of FFXIII.

I feel like they wouldn't have been so bad if any of them were fleshed out at all. Even after their DLCs, they don't got much going for them.

I honestly enjoyed the gang more when guest characters like Iris and Aranea were there.

Seymour's plan was that she marries him, he becomes her Final Aeon, then he becomes Sin and rules/destroys Spira.

Basch is a nonfactor in the game. You could literally just remove him entirely and nothing changes. There main connection to Gabranth is through Balthier. I'm convinced the moronic twin plot point is because he was never really intended to be part of the game or that Basch was just a vanilla traitor and Gabranth didn't exist and the tribunal becomes instead Reddas, Balthier, and Basch.

The way things play out scream that Ashe was the MC who gets joined by Balthier, Fran, Larsa, Reddas, and Elza.

Eh. He does have his whole knight of Dalmasca, twin thing, honor and redemption and other stuff. He at least has focus as opposed to vaan. Either way, I agree, he pales compared to Ashe. Really, most of the other characters do. It's her journey, her development, her heartbreak and eventually her ascension.

You could argue Basch is the main like tidus was (it's yunas journey but tidus plays a very key role), but I'd agree basch is not as influential to the outcome as tidus was.
