It was scary and confusing and I was really quiet and standoffish with everyone. For one lesson, I'm sat in a circle with the other kids in my class and I'm slouched down in my chair. My whole body was so tense and nervous and I knew a fart was coming and I couldn't help but let it out. It was long and audible and because of how I was sitting the sound reverberated off the chair. Everyone turned to look at me for the duration and then burst out laughing in the way only 13 year old boys can. I should have owned it. I could have grinned, I could have laughed. I could have fist pumped the air, jumped up and feigned wafting it around the room. I probably would have done that in English school. But I was too scared and nervous.
