You would cause a massive viral/bacterial outbreak since the bacteria on you now is a lot more advanced/mutated compared to bacteria back then. Also, the butterfly effect. Unless you stay isolated and don't contact any of the people of that era, anything you do or say could have massive ripple effects and who knows what future you could change.

No one in the world understands the language I speak (modern english).
If I keep the same location and move back in time, Washington is an alright place to land. A giant white man would be a novelty to the native population around here, they were generally really receptive up here, the Potlatch culture was supposedly really welcoming. That's probably actually best case scenario for me. Ending up in Europe around then would be rough, modern english is centuries away and it will take a while to learn the new language regardless. I've read enough shit hit the fan type fiction I think I could create potassium nitrate (saltpeter). From there gun powder is easy. I could maybe help kick off the iron age in the new world. Much lower confidence on that though. At least describe it. I could bring the written language. I could give basic directions on how to make guns and canons, printing press, cotton gin, basic descriptions of steam engine, etc. Be a leonardo da vinci type for them. Could also teach some agriculture. Nut and berry farms aplenty. I think I would do alright if history has told me the truth. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
