1: whale scene was the best in the show lmao it was hilarious.
2: please spoil me on this one thing people who have read the comics. I literally just want a yes/no/maybe answer and nothing more: Do they eventually use Homelander's kid to try to kill Homelander?

Been a solid show so far, except the rape. Rape is an awful thing that shouldn't be shown in media.

No one knows since the comic version had Butcher bash the kids brains in after it killed his wife when it flew out of her womb

Murder and peril and torture is okay but not rape?

Don't get me wrog, it's an awful awful thing but I don't understand the "You're not allowed to depict this act that happens every moment of every day all over the world. Stick to the murder and pain. That's fine."

Some of the greatest works of all time have featured rape or sexual assault. Why shouldn't "media" be allowed to depict it when relevant to the narrative.

Silent Hill 2 for example would be a objectively worse game if Pyramid Head didn't rape the mannequins. It's thematically relevant.

And often times, especially in anime/manga, it can also be done very distastefully as well. Where the scene would be use primarily for fanservice reasons, even if the intention is to show rape being wrong.

It's true though. The whole game is a metaphor for male sexual frustration and violence against women that were part of James' psyche which he had tried to deny and repress while his wife was sick. Nagging him constantly while becoming grotesque looking and he got no sex for years. All of the enemies are femmine except Pyramid Head who is hugely uberly masculine and goes around penetrating female entities with his massive sword.

Take the imagery out because "Rape is bad and shouldn't be in media" and the entire symbolism and narrative is weaker.

Logically I agree with you, and I tend to make all of my decisions with that kind of logic. I've just met too many people with that kind of history who are seriously hurt by those depictions. And I don't think they shouldn't be allowed. I would definitely vote noon a vote to ban rape scenes. I just think there are much better ways to portray similar pains.
