I hope that Karl dude gets some serious help, I cant imagine having such a loose grip on reality and such little compassion for our fellow man.

Nah, Shapiros saying that people use commentary like justice has been served, when they agree with the outcome (i.e. the ruling). In other words, its fickle, as in very subject to personal bias.

This is also very noticeable during elections. If a politician wins, and its the one you supported, they say the people have spoken! Theyre implying that it was always the correct choice and outcome. But if they lose, they dont say that. In reality, either outcome (win or lose) would mean the people have spoken.

This. But I think his tweet's meaning is lost on most people anyway.

That literally wasn't the case with Trump, though. The majority was against him.

Lol what's to elaborate? I just quoted the guy above me who elaborated everything. I think many people just read his tweet and think "yeah, no shit", but the point is that people tend say things like "justice has been served" when they agree with the outcome. I'm sure that if the verdicts were not guilty, there'd be a bunch of Chauvin-sympathizers also saying "justice has been served" if they truly believed he shouldn't have been convicted.

But it doesn't matter. He's guilty, I'm glad, and I'm glad the nation can start healing.

Not sure why you feel the need to attack me, lol. I'm not a "follower", I was just trying to explain his tweet ffs.

except that guy was trying to say that people will claim justice is served about any trivial thing they happen to agree with. Obviously people who agree with giving police the power to murder innocent people would have said that an acquittal was justice; however, were now talking about the outcome of the trial of a convicted murderer who was caught on film abusing his state granted authority to cruelly rob the life of an innocent man, so now that the just outcome has been reached and people say, justice is served on this matter, its not some naively stated opinion on something either unrelated to or only abstractly related to literal justice, its a fact. Convicted murderer Chauvin was allowed to exercise his right to due process, a right that his actions stole from Mr. Floyd, and was found guilty based on those standards. Theres no room in the discussion for rhetoric like the person you quoted was trying to peddle. My question was moreso to gauge if you earnestly agreed with that garbage, and since it appears you do, then I dont really know how to properly express how little respect I have for you.

No.

You are conflating morality with legality and you are dismissing the message of the post (Shapiros) because of your bias.

@Cyberwrath and I are satisfied with the outcome, regardless. I dont care about Chauvin and think he should serve the max sentence. Im not sure why you bothered mentioning respect, considering this is CE and your respect is worthless.

No.

We ended up with a rare scenario resolution where morality and legality aligned with one another. Shapiros tweet has no substance and is merely a ploy designed to muddy the waters and mislead people into thinking the outcome should have been the opposite.

Respect by definition cannot be worthless, for example: if convicted murderer Chauvin had respected either the indisputable sanctity of all life (natural law) or his state appointed duty to protect the lives of the citizens within his jurisdiction (judicial law), you and I wouldnt be having this conversation; George Floyd would be alive, and convicted murderer Chauvin wouldnt be facing a prison sentence.

For all the people who, for some reason, think they can take the position that Floyd did for the time he did while having the fear he had as a black man and an officer arresting him for a possible counterfeit $20 bill and all the commotion around and come out all alive and well, have a go. Im sure youll totally come out the same as you started. Totally wont be injured anyway. Nope.

Disclaimer: mods, I do not want or encourage anyone to do that. Its not safe and theres video evidence it leads to murder for the person in the position of the kneeling.

Shapiro has put himself in that position where he draws attention but it's force fed. It's a problem with the internet age in general. The people who want and grab attention aren't exactly the people you should be listening to. If you are shallow and capitalistic sure. And it's good to know that there are idiots out there. How useful that is I don't know. It's not really necessary. There is a point where you know too much where you start to sound like them. And a lot of people do. Manipulation is a huge issue these days.
