My first weekly meeting with the principal consisted of him repeating in different phrases how happy he was that I was engaging with the teachers and actually listening to their IT issues
Me: okay look I appreciate the value on communication here but the last guy didn't even leave passwords for the server. Like I can't actually even reset passwords yet.
Principal: I understand that and that will come in time but right now the fact you are understanding the need for the passwords to be reset is something we've never had here since I became principal.
Me: so... the fact I'm not actually reseting their password but responding to them that I will reset it = good?
Principal: Yes! That's the type of attutidue we need!

The school was just a one man show but ran by a guy who had no idea what the fuck they were doing and basically fucked the place up so badly
