In Cube 2, one person survived to escape the cube, but she was killed very shortly after. In Cube 1, one guy survives and the movie ends after he exits the cube, the movie doesn't indicate his fate beyond that. Cube Zero has a confirmed survivor who we see for sure made it back to the outside world alive.

correct, but she dies immediately after from a gun to the head.

IIRC someone survives cube zero too but I might be wrong.

I'll give you weird, but I've met very few people who dislike it. Cube was brilliant in it's simplicity and helped pioneer the "hot open nobody knows what's going on and we're not really going to explain the how's or why, just enjoy the ride of watching how different people act under extreme duress" genre.

The sequels and prequel however, I will not defend in any way.

Sequels? They did another one? I'm only aware of the original, one sequel, and the prequel...

EDIT: Nope, only seems to be those three (plus this new one which is indeed supposed to just be a remake of the first).

One of the coolest twists in the cube trilogy was having the one survivor in Cube Zero get lobotomized for escaping and then ending up being the savant from the first movie.

I want to believe this new movie/remake really plays up the creepiness factor of the fact that the cube itself wasn't intentionally designed as much as it just spontaneously got built as a byproduct of an impossibly large bureaucracy where no department really knows what its work is going towards.

I doubt that'll happen, though.

cube is a canadian classic and there is some misinformation about survivors in this thread but i understand as the sequels sucked. but ill explain about cube "survivors"

cube 1 had the mentally handicapped man survive

then cube 2 had a woman escape but its then revealed she was working for the cubes creators to get something out of the new cube and with her job finished she gets shot in the head

then in cube 3 is ruins the end of cube 1 by revealing that people who make it out of the cube are burned alive so the survivor from the first movie died during the credits we just didnt know about that. this movie did have someone actually escape and survive but its a movie best left forgotten
