I'm around a 1000 elo player and want to up my game. Any recommendations for videos, books, or even paid online courses that can help me get better? I dont mind courses on openings but I think what I really need are lessons on positional play and tactical play.

I hear chessable has good paid content but theres so many I have no idea what to get.

chesscom puzzles and lessons are really good and well-structured but cost a monthly sub. it's worth it imo, make a point in doing an hour a day and you'll be 1600 in no time

I got their premium membership and have been doing their puzzles a lot lately, its definitely improved my game. I feel the only drawback with puzzles is that I know im generally looking for forcing moves with checkmate around the corner, whereas during an ingame situation I'm not looking at the board in the same way with every move because obviously most situations wont easily lead to mate in 2-3 moves.

I like watching Ben finegold because he's funny.

watch Eric Rosen to see him spam cool openings.

st Louis chess club has good videos but they're low production value and the teachers are usually pretty dweeby.

There's a torrent for Chessmaster with great lessons in it, but I obviously don't recommend downloading it.
