Resident Evil VII.I.AGE. the advertisement here. Has me thinking it's trying to say Resident Evil 8AGE. But then I see another that says Village, very confusing.

It's Resident Evil Village. But given how they've done their marketing and art to emphasize VIII, there's no chance that the next numbered installment after this wouldn't be 9.

Why do they make a point of showing off the 8 in the name but completely ignore it?

People also thought Resident Evil 7: biohazard was a true reboot for the series and would be the last time a mainline game would have the Resident Evil title. Here we are in 2021 and Resident Evil is still there.

Here we are in 2021 and Resident Evil is still there. I thought 7 was a reboot until What happened to the C virus? Is it a new virus in 7? 8 Just looks like the lore is getting deeper into itself.
